The beautification of the wooden transport pallet is parodying the dominance of the aesthetics over the functionality. Reason for selecting this object for this work is because wooden pallet is one of the last objects that are manufactured without the aesthetic input. Its original design is pure functionality driven.
Pallet is converted into desirable object by endless amount of sanding and polishing. The finish used on it is shellac (French polish), commonly known as a finish of the antique furniture.
This very pallet was used and abused, street found object.
