urban intervention, 2003, Split - Croatia
Tabula rasa
Project enabled author’s communication with non-familiar city, by letting first word to be said by the hosting city. On the five locations with in the downtown area, five white plates (1.5x2.5 m) were displayed. Whiteness of the plates acknowledged the presence of an alien, without imposing any specified or defined thought. These plates were exposed during five days, on a frequent but at the same time intimate locations (small streets and shortcut passages, instead of squares and wide streets).
This way accidental by-passer was enabled to remain unseen, while provoked by the whiteness of the surface and intervening on the same.
Plates were transferred into gallery space at the end of predicted time period.
