site specific urban intervention, 1999, Mostar - Bosnia and Herzegovina
Mostar/Berlin
Context of this project is separation of the city of Mostar on two halves during and post-war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Intervention was made on 10th November 1999, the 10th anniversary of the fall of Berlin wall. On two traffic plates, signing the entrance into the city of Mostar, it was intervened that the original name of the city was changed with sign “Berlin”. That sign was the same as the original considering the type and size of used font, while the plates (background) weren’t changed at all.
This piece lasted for about ten hours, because it was removed after intervention of city governments (both halves).
